"A great future teacher lends a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart".BY: JEENY MAAÑO

A wonderful day to all!,

I am JENNY M. MAAÑO, a future educator and a first-year Bachelor of Elementary Education student at Eastern Visayas State University. I would like to take this opportunity to share my journey as an aspiring teacher, my philosophy in life, my experiences as a student, and the fulfillment that comes with pursuing this degree.

For the past 12 years of studying—from elementary, high school, and now in college—the main reason I aspire to become a teacher is my deep desire to make a positive impact on society, foster intellectual growth, and nurture the potential within every individual. The teachers I have encountered throughout my life have greatly inspired me. I admire the way they wear their uniforms with pride, teach us each day, help us gain knowledge, and guide us to socialize with respect and kindness. To me, teachers are not only educators but also second parents who create a positive and inclusive learning environment. For all my teachers since childhood, thank you for being part of the inspiration that motivates me to pursue this noble profession.

As a future educator, I know teaching truly fits the career I have chosen. Through my daily learning and interactions with diverse people, I realized how much I enjoy the idea of teaching a classroom full of students. My philosophy in life as a student is simple: “Enjoy every process and do it as best as I can.” The journey of learning is never easy—every child faces challenges in gaining knowledge. That is why I remind myself to embrace both the struggles and the successes, the obstacles and the lessons. For me, it is not about “numbers” or grades, but about the passion, effort, and dedication I put into every step of my journey.

Life presents us with many beautiful processes, whether expected or not. And even though I am still a student, I choose to enjoy my journey with gratitude, always remembering God as my guide.

To my fellow future teachers: let us hold on to our passion, because it is through teaching that we can truly make a difference in the lives of others.
