Aiming to equip students with the necessary knowledge to promote drug prevention and control within the community, the National Service Training Program - Civic Welfare Training Service (NSTP-CWTS) students of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) - Main Campus took part in the Anti-Illegal Drug Symposium with the Learning Resource Institute, held at the Inner Court, Saturday, September 13.
In attendance at the symposium were students from the School of Education (SED), School of Technology (SOT), and School of Accountancy, Management, and Entrepreneurship (SAME), expressing their commitment and willingness on understanding of the real-world consequences of drug abuse.
Spearheaded by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the said event was also attended by the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), emphasizing that informed citizens are the first line of defense against the drug problem, and making students aware of their role in community safety and national security.
