"Teaching with hearts, inspired by home".BY:JERICK LUGADA
"From the lessons at home to the classroom of tomorrow."
Ever since I was young, I have always looked up to my parents, who are both farmers. They may not have finished higher education, but they have taught me some of the most important lessons in life: hard work, perseverance, and humility. Watching their sacrifices every single day inspired me to dream bigger, not only for myself but also for them. They became my greatest motivation to pursue education and to dedicate myself to becoming the best version of who I can be.
As a future educator, I believe that teaching is more than sharing knowledge—it is about shaping lives. My dream is to stand in front of my class one day and inspire my students the way my parents have inspired me. I want to show them that no matter where you come from or how hard life gets, you can always achieve your goals if you work with passion and determination.
Being part of Eastern Visayas State University, taking up Bachelor of Elementary Education, is a journey that molds me into becoming a future teacher. Every challenge I face as a student reminds me of the sacrifices of my parents, and that fuels my determination to finish strong. For me, education is not just a path to a better life, but a way to honor my parents’ love and hard work.
Someday, when I finally become a teacher, I want my students to see me as more than someone who lectures in front of a board. I want them to see me as a mentor who believes in their potential, just as my parents always believed in me. Teaching will be my way of paying forward the inspiration I received at home—an inspiration rooted in love, sacrifice, and hope.
I am Jerick Lugada, a future educator, and I will teach not only with knowledge but with heart because I have been inspired by the greatest teachers of all, my parents.
